New Delhi: Who was Baba Nigmanand ? After his long fast that ultimately proved cost his life, Baba Nigmanand came in to prominence. He was fasting in order to make Ganga clean. While nobody was interested was keen to save him when he was fasting,now everybody is talking about him.
It is said that he was from Bihar and couple of years ago came to capital as an IIT aspirant. He took admission in one the schools of capital. Later,he decided to become sadhu and moved to Haridwar.
The story of Swami Nigamanand’s unpublicised fast and tragic death has exposed the chinks in our media also, which was only focussing on Baba Ramdev who was admitted to the same Dehradun hospital.
Meanwhile, Nigamanand’s body lies smothered by garlands in an ashram on the outskirts of Haridwar, as his family wrestles with his spiritual guru, the Swami Shivanandji of Maitri Sadan in Kankhal, for the right to cremate him. Hopefully,he would be creamted on Thursday
