New Delhi: A group of as many as 240 Sikh pilgrims is scheduled to visit Pakistan on October 28 this year to take part in ‘Saka Panja Sahib’ centenary event, said Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee president Harmeet Singh Kalka.

The religious event will be organised at the Gurdwara Panja Sahib located in Hasan Abdal, one of sacred places of Sikhism, some 45 kilo meters away from Rawalpindi.

He said that on October 28 the pilgrims will enter Pakistan through the Attari-Wagah border crossing and depart towards Amritsar on November 2.

They will also travel to Nankana Sahib, Lahore, and other Gurdwaras in Pakistan.

“A total of 240 pilgrims from across India will reach Pakistan on October 28. Of them, 40 pilgrims will be sent by the DSGMC from Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad and Ghaziabad,” Kalka said.

The pilgrims, according to him, must take both doses of the Covid vaccine and pass a COVID-19 test 72 hours before travelling to Pakistan.

The pilgrims will also need to pass a RAT test when they arrive at the joint checkpoint at the Attari-Wagha border, in addition to a negative RTPCR report.
