26/11 terror attacks: Pak HC denies permission to get voice samples of suspects

Islamabad: In a major setback to the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks probe, Islamabad High Court on Wednesday dismissed Pakistan government’s petition seeking voice samples of the alleged masterminds of the attack due to non-prosecution.

The prosecution had sought voice samples of the suspects to compare it with the clippings intercepted by the Indian Intelligence and present it before the Anti-Terror Court (ATC) as an evidence against the seven suspects of Mumbai terror attacks.

Earlier, the same court in September 2012 had dismissed two petitions- one asking for voice samples of the seven suspects and the other for declaring Ajmal Kasab and Faheem Ansari as absconders in the case.

The petitions had been dismissed, as the prosecution had not appeared in the court to argue the case.
