New Delhi: Over 4 lakh people have benefited from the NITI Ayog’s lucky draw schemes for those poting for digital transactions. Of the 4 lakh, 3.81 lakh are consumers and 21,000 are merchants. They have been declared winners of ' Lucky Grahak Yojana (for consumers) and ' Digi-Dhan Vyapar Yojana (for merchants). A total of about Rs 61 crore has been distributed as prize money.
The names of the winners were announced at the 24 Digi-Dhan Melas that were held both, daily and weekly, across the country. Over 100 such melas will held all over the country. The lucky ones include small farmers, Anganwadi workers, and homemakers. Major chunk of the winners are in the age group of 21 to 30 years.
Maximum number of winners are from Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka.
By February 1, lucky draws will have been held in 21 States and four Union territories. LGY events will be held in the coming days in Itanagar, Bhopal, Thane, Indore, Chennai, Jaipur, and Port Blair, among other cities.
The two lucky draws schemes will remain open till April 14, 2017.Customers and merchants using RuPay Card, BHIM, UPI (Bharat Interface for Money/Unified Payment Interface) USSD based *99# service and Aadhaar-enabled Payment Service (AePS) are eligible for participating in the daily and weekly lucky draws.
