500th Test in Kanpur: When did India play 1st Test?

New Delhi:  The first Test Match against New Zealand  starting in Kanpur from Thursdaywill be India's  500th Test Match. It's a long journey since 1932, when India had played a Test Match for the first time. India lost the test by 158 runs at Lord's.    
It was a 3-day test match from  June 25-June 28, with June 26 as a rest day.  England under Douglas Jardine, won the toss and elected to bat. In a remarkable performance India restricted the hosts to 259, with Mohammad Nissar taking 5 wickets for 93. However, India were bowled out for just 189. In their second outing, England  declared at 275-8. India were bowled out for 187 in their second innings, thus losing  by 158 runs
This was India's second overseas tour, and team was called 'All-India' Team. On its first tour in 1911, India had not played a Test  Match
