6 dead in last near Indian consulate in Afghanistan

Kabul: Six people were killed and two others were wounded when a suicide bomber blew himself up in a house near Pakistan consulate in the Afghan city of Jalalabad on Wednesday morning.

Witnesses said that a series of explosions could be heard and residents and children from a nearby school were evacuated.

The explosion took place 200 meters away from the Indian consulate.

According to reports, all Indians are safe.

This is the third attack near an Indian consulate in last 10 days.

An explosive-laden vehicle was found near the Indian consulate in Heart on January 8. One person was arrested in this regard.

On January 3, a group of armed assailants tried to storm into the Indian consulate in Mazar-i-Sharif. However, their attack was foiled by ITBP officials and Afghan forces in an operation that lasted nearly 25 hours.
