New Delhi: A seven-year-old girl was picked up while asleep by three youths, two of who are her neighbours, and raped on Sunday night in east Delhi's Mandavali area, police said on Monday. The girl has been hospitalised. According to police, the incident occurred on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. "The girl was sleeping in the fields in the floodplains of Yamuna river when the three persons took her to a field and raped her," a senior police officer said. "We have apprehended all the three accused," Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Rishi Pal told reporters. The accused have been identified as Bhure, 19, Amir, 21, and Bhim Sen, 19, police said. According to police, two of the accused are neighbours of the victim. The girl has been admitted in hospital and is recovering from her injuries, police added.
