75 friends on WhatsApp group playing deadly Blue Whale?

New Delhi: Despite an intense campaign against deadly internet game Blue Whale, the disastrous Russian-based online game, news of unfortunate death of young children keep pouring in. Latest to claim life is of a college student in Madurai. 

A 19-year-old boy from the district has allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself inside his house on Wednesday evening, as a task of completing the last challenge of the game. This is the first death reported in the state due to the game which has claimed many young lives in the country and around the world.

After a 19-year-old college student was found hanging in his room in by his father in Tamil Nadu's first death linked to the 'Blue Whale' challenge, the police suspect the teen was part of a WhatsApp group of 75 friends who are playing the suicide game. "Blue Whale - This is not a game but danger. Once you enter, you can never exit," Vignesh wrote in a chilling note found in his home in Madurai yesterday.

The police also found the telling image of a whale carved into Vignesh's left arm with "Blue Whale" written below it.
