8 IS militants killed in Lebanon

Beirut, March 10: At least eight Islamic State militants were killed in clashes with Lebanese military on Thursday, media reports said. One government soldier was killed and eight others were injured on the outskirts of Ras Baalbek village in Lebanon, Xinhua quoted the National News Agency (NNA) as saying. Lebanon has been facing rising threat from the IS and Al-Qaeda linked al-Nusra Front since 2014, when the two groups briefly overran the border town of Arsal.
