Mumbai: This news may shock you. One BJP candidate, who is contesting the BMC polls, has declared assets worth Rs 690 crore. He is contesting the civic polls for the first time.
His name is Parag Shah. He is a real estate developer. Shah is said to be one of the richest candidates contesting the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections to be held on February 21.
His rival is Congress heavyweight Pravin Chheda in ward 132 of the Gujarati-dominated Ghatkopar. Shah is well-known in the region’s Jain community.
In his affidavit, Shah has declared his family’s movable and immovable assets.
He is MD of Man Infraconstruction, which has undertakes real estate projects in the city. He owns three houses in Ghatkopar. His wife, Mansi, has one house in her name in Ghatkopar and another in Thane, according to Shah's affidavit.
