Manorama Devi, the Bihar lawmaker and mother of murder accused Rocky Yadav, has surrendered on Tuesday, said police. Her son Rocky Yadav was arrested last week for a road rage killing. The surrender came a day after the Bihar court deferred the hearing of Manorama Devi's much-awaited anticipatory bail plea.
Manorama Devi has finally surrendered in the court and has been sent to 14 day judicial custody.
Soon after surrendering in the court she said, "police have been harassing me and framed me in a false case. No liquor bottle was recovered from my residence. It is all under political pressure. I respect the court and surrender now."
An arrest warrant was issued against Manorama Devi last Wednesday for keeping liquor in her home in Gaya town against the prohibition law and for harbouring her fugitive son who has since been arrested, said a district police officer.
