Mumbai: Akshay Kumar is all set to hit a century at box office with Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. The timing too is perfect. After a series of flops, including Salman Khan's Tublelight, Ranbir Kapoor's Jagga Jasoos and SRK's Harry Met Sejal, Toilet has boosted the sagging morale of the film industry.
Toilet is having a fabulous run at the box office, and is likely to cross the Rs 100 crore mark soon, says trade analyst Tarun Adarsh. The film earned Rs 20 crore on the Independence Day, which was second highest for the fil since release. It opened with Rs 13.10 crore on Friday, followed it up with Rs 17.10 crore and Rs. 21.25 over the weekend, and Rs. 12 crore on Monday. "Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is a ONE-HORSE RACE... Does MASSIVE biz on Independence Day... Crosses Rs. 80 cr, racing towards Rs. 100 cr," tweeted Adarsh.
Yet again Akshay has proved right the tag of 'Bollywood's banker' attached to him. A report in Variety magazine had said, "Akshay Kumar is Bollywood's banker, churning out hit after hit, including Rustom, Airlift, and the Jolly LLB franchise."
