Akshay says no to 'Namastey England'?

New Delhi:  B-Town's leading actors Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra are ready to rule the silver screen with their new film,'Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar' which is to be directed by Dibakar Banerjee. Not only this, the duo will act in 'Namaste London'. Although, the movie would have been named 'Namaste England' if Akshay was part of it. But he refused to act in the film and now it is titled as 'Namaste Canada'.

Reportedly, Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha were supposed to be a part of the film. It is believed that the project took some time to get finalised and Akshay got busy with other projects, including Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Padman, 2.0 and Gold. So, Vipul signed Parineeti and Arjun for the film. Both, Akshay and Vipul own the Intellectual Property (IP) rights to the Namastey series, and when the filmmaker approached him for the rights, the actor refused to part with the titles Namastey London 2 or Namastey England. He told Vipul that he may want to produce and act in Namastey England later. So, the filmmaker had no choice but to change the title to Namastey Canada.”

There were rumours that 'Namaste England' had some financial issues as it is a big budget movie. But Vipul Shah has tackled the situation and he is all set to start the film.
