Amul milk's price to be hiked by Rs 2/ litre

Ahmedabad: In a news that will disappoint milk lovers, the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) has decided to hike the prices of milk by 4 percent or Rs 2 per litre starting from March, 2017. The surge in the prices has come as a result of a fallout of the rise in the procurement price to the farmers.

GCMMF, that has been selling milk and milk products under the brand name Amul, had already hiked prices of other dairy products. However, it has yet to increase prices of ice-creams, butter, ghee and butter milk among others.
