And the Oscar goes to...

Los Angeles: The 88th Academy Awards was a star-studded night filled with glitz, galmour and excitement. The event was presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) and was hosted by Cris Rock.

While Mad Max- Fury Road won six awards, The Revenant won three awards of the total twelve nominations.

The highlight of the night however was Leonardo DiCaprio winning the award for the best actor in a leading role for The Revenant. Leo has won over 40 awards so far and has been nominated for the Oscars six times. This is his first win.
