Andhra MP arrested for assaulting Air India employee

Hyderabad: YSR Congress MP Mithun Reddy was arrested from Chennai Airport on early Sunday morning for allegedly assaulting an Air India manager in Tirupati in November last year.

According to reports, Mr. Reddy allegedly slapped Rajshekhar, an Air India manager, after he refused to issue boarding passes to his relatives for a flight to Delhi saying that they were late.

Further, YSR Congress chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy had earlier dismissed the accusations against the lawmaker. However, CCTV footage confirmed the manager being assaulted by the MP and his supporters.

Based on the CCTV footage, an FIR has been lodged and Mr. Reddy has been sent to a jail in Nellore on 14-day judicial remand.
