Prabhakar Mishra, New Delhi, Oct 9: Angry over non submission of documents for forensic audit, Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered policy custody for Amrapali promoter and CMD Anil Sharma along with two other directors. The trio taken in custody in courtroom. The apex court is hearing petitions filed by aggrieved homebuyers. The bench of Justice Arun Mishra and Justice U U Lalit ordered poilce custody for Anil Kumar Sharma, Shov Priya and Ajay Kumar till the time company all relevant documents to the auditors.The bench warned Amrapali not to play "hide and seek" with SC and ordered that the directors will stay in police custody until they comply with the court orders in letter and spirit. The Amrapali directors have failed to submit documents for the last two months. The court had ordered forensic audit to find out whether the money invested by the homebuyers has been diverted elesewhere by the group.
"You are playing with the dignity of this court. You are deliberately attempting not to comply with the Apex Court's orders," observed the bench."We don't know if it will take one day or one month. But you will be in custody until all the documents are given to the auditors," the bench said. The court also directed the Delhi Police and Noida Police to work together to seize all relevant documents from Amrapali. As per court orderes, policemen will escort the trio to places and offices from where the relevant documents have to be seized. "You will now be released only after the auditors are satisfied that they have received all the documents," the bench added. The bench also issued contempt notices. The court has also directed seizure of passports of the three. Next date of hearing has been fixed as Oct 24: Forensic auditors appeared personally and stated that Amrapali has not provided any relevant document and is not cooperating.News24 Bureau
