THE INTRODUCTORY PRICE IS RS 65,000. DELIVERIES WILL START BY THE LAST WEEK OF AUGUST AND THE BOOKING AMOUNT RANGES BETWEEN RS 3,000-5,000.
Recently, Piaggio surprised everyone by announcing the introductory price of the upcoming Aprilia SR150 scooter at just Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom). Now, Vespa dealerships have started bookings of the scooter with different token amounts ranging between Rs 3,000 and Rs 5,000. The dealers are saying that deliveries of the pre-booked scooters will start by the last week of August 2016.
Launching in mid-August, the Aprilia SR150 will be available at all Vespa dealerships. There will be a separate themed section for this sporty scooter from the elegant Vespa lineup. The scooter will most probably reach dealerships in the third week of August and they will start test rides after that as well.
Powering the SR150 is a single cylinder 150cc, 4-stroke engine, the same unit that does duty on the 150cc Vespa models. It makes 12PS of power and delivers 11.5Nm of peak torque, which is sufficient to provide a punchy performance to this lightweight machine. Apart from the aerodynamic design and attractive styling, the other sporty features of the scooter are large 14" alloy wheels with five spokes, much similar to the Aprilia racing bikes, 120/70 section performance tyres, disc brakes, and beefy front telescopic forks.
Although, the Aprilia SR150 lacks the convenience features which comes with other scooters in its price range, it can beat just about any other offering in the market in terms of performance, and that is what this one of its kind offering in India is all about.
