New Delhi, September 9: Yes, you have heard it right. Amitabh Bachchan's show Kaun Banega Crorepati's season 9 has got its first crorepati. And, the contestant is a woman who hails from Jamshedpur.
Anamika Majumdar has become the crorepati of Big B's KBC 9. The social worker refused to play the show any further after she won Rs 1 crore and quit the show when she could not find the answer of the jackpot question worth Rs 7 crore.
Kaun Banega Crorepati 9 premiered on August 28, and none of the contestants could take home Rs 1 crore so far.
Before Anamika, Biresh Choudhary from Haryana won Rs 50 lakh. In the episode that aired a day before yesterday, Arun Singh took home Rs 25 lakh.
BC 9's first crorepati Anamika Majumdar is a social worker and married with two kids. She runs an NGO called Faith In India - Female Aura. Anamika will invest her winning amount in her NGO that works for rural areas of Jharkhand. In the same episode, viewers would get to see badminton champion P.V. Sindhu as well.
