New Delhi, August 31 : In a surprise move that is going to hurt crores of people, the Narendra Modi government on Thursday night hiked prices of LPG cylinders by Rs 73.50.
The new price of non-subsidised cylinder will be Rs 597.50 in Delhi. The new rates are effective September 1. The move is seen as a strategy to do away with subsidies on LPG. Earlier the oil companies were asked to raise subsidised cooking gas prices by Rs 4 per cylinder every month.
