Bihar: Infrastructure crunch forces schools to follow odd-even formula

Patna: You will be surprised to know that Delhi is not the first Indian city to introduce odd-even scheme as Bihar had been following it for long.

However, the usage of the scheme differs-Delhi used the scheme to decongest traffic, Bihar used it to decongest schools.

According to TOI, Several government schools in the state run either in shifts or on alternate days because of a space and infrastructure crunch. For the kids, this means they go to school for just three days a week, as Sundays are a holiday for everyone.

Reports claim that Bihar education department had been using this formula for rationing space in schools.
