Once you catch onto the steps, you can add on extra shimmies, hip bumps, or other freestyle moves. Dancers have the option of either keeping it high-energy or low-impact.

Bokwa, the word, is a creation of two words - “Bo” meaning boxer and “Kwa” relating to an African style of dancing. This dance concept was the brainchild of L.A.-based fitness instructor Paul Mavi and fitness entrepreneur Johann Verheem. The dynamic duo initially launched this new dance concept in the United Kingdom, where it had already created ripples, and then in U.S.  The new dance moves are refreshing, the style is fun and the workout is not so challenging. The benefits of such a dance routine are that one hour of it can help you burn 1,000 calories. It also combines cardio-conditioning, strength training, coordination and flexibility.
