Brussels attacks: El Bakraoui brothers behind airport, metro bombing

Brussels: Two suicide bombers, who detonated their explosives at Zaventem international airport on Tuesday, have been identified as El Bakraoui brothers.

Belgian broadcaster RTBF said that Bakraoui brothers, Khalid and Brahim, were known to the police and had criminal records. A third man who was spotted with them at the airport is still being sought.

The broadcaster said that one of the brothers, Khalid, used a false name to rent a house in the forest area of Brussels, which was raided by police last week, following which Paris terror attack suspect Salah Abdeslam was arrested.

The police had also recovered chemical explosives and an ISIS flag in the raid.

Meanwhile, Belgium is observing three days of national mourning till 24 March. "All flags will be flown half-mast on all official buildings," Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
