New Delhi, Jan 31: Reliance Jio is all set to give a very big news to its customers after launching the cheapest feature phone.
According to reports, Reliance Jio is now planning to launch a 4G VoLTE smartphone which will run on Android Go Operating System at highly affordable price.
The 4G VoLTE smartphone will be launched under the LYF brand in partnership with Taiwanese chipset maker MediaTek. According to reports, Reliance Industries may adopt a same approach to what it did for the Jio Phone — the 4G VoLTE featurephone — and offer the smartphone bundled with a Reliance Jio SIM card, aimed at bringing the costs to unseen levels for a such a smartphone.
The move is aimed at connecting more and more subscribers amid cut throat competition prevailing in the market.
Sources divulged that the price of the new smartphone is likely to remain lower than Rs 1500. And, the company may soon order millions of units of this new 4G smartphone.
This new move of Jio will target those 50 crore customers who have not yet shifted to a smartphone yet due to price issue.
