: Manju Verma, Bihar's social welfare minister who resigned today over the  Muzaffarpur Shelter Home scandal says she resigned because media and opposition had created a furore. "But I have full faith in the CBI and the judiciary. I am sure the truth will be out and my husband will come out clean. Call records of accused Brajesh Thakur should be made public, we will then see who all he used to talk to."

Finally comes the news which can be seen as a major development in Muzaffarpur Shelter Home Case that Bihar Minister Manju Verma has resigned. Her husband has been accused of having links with alleged mastermind Brajesh Thakur.

Earlier she had vehemently denied the reports that she was being forced to resign. She said that a conspiracy theory was being hatched against her.

Even senior ministers had come to the rescue saying that the minister should not resign on hearsay allegations.

Just a couple of days back Bharatiya Janata Party leader CP Thakur (on Sunday) had said that Bihar's social welfare department minister Manju Verma should resign till the investigation into the Muzaffarpur shelter home case is not over.
Verma's husband Chandrasekhar Verma has been accused of frequently visiting the Muzaffarpur shelter home, where more than 40 girls were subjected to sexual exploitation.

Speaking to ANI, Thakur had said,"I am not saying that they are guilty. But, if everything is going wrong in her department I think she should take responsibility for the department. There were complaints from several other places as well."
