CBI is pet performing parrot..Why Srijan not probed,Cong attacks BJP

New Delhi, Dec 23: Reacting to conviction of Lalu Yadav in fodder scam case, Congress attacked BJP for using CBI against the political opponents. Congress alos questioned the independence of CBI under the Modi government.

"Lalu Yadav has been fighting this legal battle since 1996. It started when BJP leaders filed PIL against him in Patna HC. He & his lawyers are capable of fighting this case. I want to ask BJP why Srijan scam is not being investigated? Why are there different strokes for different folks?," Tewari said.

"We have always said the law should take its course... (but) the central investigating agencies are acting like a pet performing parrot," Tiwari added.

Earlier on Saturday, a special CBI court convicted RJD chief and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad and 15 others in a case relating to the multi-million rupee fodder scam. The court acquitted another former Bihar Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra and five others in the case, related to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 84.5 lakh from the Deoghar district treasury. The CBI court will pronounce the quantum of sentence on January 3. Lalu Prasad has been sent to jail. Angry RJD workers tried to stop the police vehicle when Lalu Prasad was being taken to jail.
