Aamir Khan’s 'Dangal' has become the highest grossing film of 2016, breaking the record of Salman Khan’s 'Sultan' in just 13 days after its release.
While the Sultan official box office collection stands at 300.45 crore at the domestic box office, Dangal has officially crossed the 300 crore mark, which officially makes it the highest grossing film of 2016.
Based on the real life story of wrestler-coach Mahavir Singh Phogat, Dangal brings forth the emotional and inspiring tale of two daughters who decide to fulfill the unfulfilled dreams of their champion father.
Both Aamir and Salman now have two films in the 300 crore category. Aamir with PK and now Dangal, and Salman with Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan.
Aamir Khan’s previous blockbuster hit PK had crossed the 300cr mark in 17 days but Dangal only took 13 days to achieve the feat.
