New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party today emphasized its "firm" stand over the alleged involvement of Arun Jaitley in DDCA corruption, despite finance minister’s complaint of criminal defamation.
"He was involved in corruption in the DDCA and we are firm on what we have said. We will put forth and explain our stand in the court," AAP leader Sanjay Singh said.
The reaction from the party came hours after Jaitley accused Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and five other AAP leaders — Sanjay Singh, Ashutosh, Kumar Vishwas, Raghav Chadha and Deepak Bajpai — of making "false and defamatory" statements and rejected the charge that he had siphoned off money from Delhi's cricket body DDCA for his own benefit.
"The statements are made by accused with a malicious intention in order to lower my reputation among my friends, supporters and in eyes of the right thinking members of the public at large," said Jaitley while recording his statement at Patiala court earlier today, further requesting the court to take actions against them.
