Delhi Police issues terror alert on Alto carjacked from Pathankot

New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Friday issued an alert after a white Alto taxi, which was hired from Pathankot by three unknown people went missing.

Delhi Police posted an alert on Twitter saying, “A white color Alto taxi no. HP 01D 2440 was hired from Pathankot by three unknown people.”

“The driver of the taxi, identified as Vijay Kumar from Gaggal, Kangada was found dead on 20 Jan 2016 at the Kalta Bridge, Dist. Kangada. The Alto Car is missing. The search operation is on,” it added.

The security agencies have been on alert since six Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) attacked Pathankot airbase on January 2, killing seven security personnel and injuring twenty others.

Meanwhile, the national capital has been put on high alert ahead of Republic Day celebrations on January 26 in wake of terror threats from global terror organizations.
