Paris: The French police on Thursday arrested a 28-year old man carrying two handguns, ammunition and Quran from a hotel Disneyland Paris.
The man was arrested after his bag triggered metal detector alarms as he entered The New York Hotel at the popular theme park.
The Police arrested the suspected and secured the vehicle.
According to reports, preliminary investigation did not reveal any terror links and the man said that he was carrying guns fearing for his security.
Papers found on the suspect indicated that he lived in Paris.
The French Police also arrested a woman, believing her to be the man’s girlfriend, but later released her on realizing that they had the wrong woman.
France has been in a state of emergency since November last year when a jihadist outfit carried out coordinated assault in Paris leaving 130 people dead.
