It was on December 20, Taimur Ali Khan was born to Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. when Twitter trolls slammed the couple for giving their child a name which also happens to be the name of a barbaric invader, but the power couple remained unfazed and chose not to respond.
While members of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena’s family have expressed their opinions over the whole scenario the new parents refrained from talking on the same.
Now for the first time, while speaking with Mumbai Mirror, Saif has opened about his son Taimur, his upcoming films, Kareena and his two older children. Talking about Taimur, Saif confesses that he is just happy holding his son, who reminds him of Kareena.
He joked, "He (Taimur) scowls a lot, passes wind and yells so Kareena thinks he's a lot like me-a cranky, farty yeller!"
The actor took a witty stance against the Timur controversy, saying, “Perhaps, I should have added a disclaimer, as they do in the movies, that any resemblance to any person, living or dead, is purely coincidental. I’m aware of the heritage of the Turkish ruler and my son was not named after him. He was Timur, my son is Taimur.”
The Rangoon actor slammed trolls for their "ridiculous" hate posts. He said, "Yes, there were some people who raised some objections but obviously just to look at medieval history and to make value judgments is, I think, ridiculous, and a lot of people have said that on my behalf."
