New Delhi: Dense fog engulfed the national capital and surrounding areas on Friday morning disrupting road, rail and air traffic.
More than 130 trains were cancelled and 60 early morning flights were delayed due to the dense fog.
Visibility at the IGI Airport was between 75-100 m at 7am in the morning. Around 23 domestic flights and 6 international flights were delayed due to the fog. 2 international flights were cancelled, while 9 were delayed, IBN Live reported.
The minimum temperature on Thursday was recorded at 11.5 degrees Celsius, which is four degrees above the normal. The maximum temperature on the other hand was recorded at 24.7 degrees Celsius, which is five degrees above the season’s normal.
The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted light showers in the city today, which is likely to bring down the temperature.
