Golfer Vani eyes hat-trick in 9th leg of Hero women's tour

Bengaluru: On a hat-trick after back to back clinical wins, ace golfer Vani Kapoor will aim to keep the momentum going in the ninth leg of the Rs 6,00,000 Hero women's professional Tour at the par-71 Clover Greens starting here on Wednesday. The Delhi golfer who leads the Hero order of merit by a slight margin will also have her eyes on consolidating her position atop the table when she tees off alongside 12 other professionals. With four wins in five appearances and total earnings of Rs 5,72,200, Vani is in stellar form but will face stiff opposition from the likes of Neha Tripathi, Gursimar Badwal and Amandeep Drall. Neha is currently placed second in the Hero order of merit with total earnings of Rs 5,71,433, with two wins in eight appearances, and will be eager to regain the top position.  KapurthalaÂ’s Gursimar Badwal, who claimed her maiden professional title this season, is placed third in the money list with total earnings of Rs 5,40,200 while Panchkula’s Amandeep, who is also the defending champion here, is fifth with total earnings of Rs 4,29,534 in five appearances Amandeep has played some consistent golf in the last year and half and will try to maintain her good form. Other players in the fray are Chandigarh’s Saaniya Sharma, Delhi’s Mehar Atwal and Pune’s Shweta Galande.
