Govt puts animal fat on notes, temple refuses to take donation

New Delhi:  A new note is making news in Britain too. One of the biggest Hindu temples in Britain has asked worshippers not to donate the new 5 pound note. Temple authorities say that the new note contains animal fat and donation of such a note will hurt Hindu sentiments.

Leicester-located Shree Sanatan Mandir’s request came a day after Bank of England confirmed presence of animal fat in the new 5 pound note. Temple chief Vibhuti Acharya said that that Hindus are unhappy about the fact since Hindus  are vegetarians and are gainst cruelty on animals. Now the temple authorities are planning to ban the note in the temple premises.
