Happy New Year: PM Modi greets nation on occasion of Hindu calendar New Year

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday greeted the nation on the occasion of the new year of the traditional Hindu calendar.

"Greetings to people across India celebrating the advent of the New Year. May this new year bring joy & prosperity," he wrote in a tweet.

Greeting his "Sindhi friends" on the auspicious occasion of Cheti Chand, PM wrote, "Wishing all my Sindhi friends on the auspicious occasion of Cheti Chand. We bow to Lord Jhulelal & seek his divine blessings."

"Gudi Padwa wishes to all friends in Maharashtra. Praying for a phenomenal year, full of happiness and success," he said while wishing the citizens on the occasion of Gudi Padwa.
