New Delhi: Reliance Jio has declared one more good news for its users. The company has reportedly started rolling out the Jio Fiber service or Fiber To The Home (FTTH) service in Mumbai.
Back in September last year, the company went into early testing of fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) service that promises broadband speeds of up to 1Gbps. According to a report on India Today, the service is available in some buildings in the Southern Mumbai areas, such as Walkeshwar Road and Nepeansea Road. Rushabh Vora, a resident of Rahul building in Walkeshwar Road told the publication that Jio Fibre connectivity is available in his building and people are already using it. While FTTH service promises speeds of up to 1Gbps, users are getting anywhere between 70Mbps to 100Mbps.
At this speed one can download a movie in no time.
Jio is offering this service free for first 3 months.
Jio’s plan is to progressively extend this network to top 100 cities in India. The 4G entrant will also extend this optical fiber network to enterprise locations and will provide multi-gigabit per second enterprise-grade wireline data connections to enterprises in these cities.
