Pancham Saude, New Delhi: Indian telecom sector is in war, even after a year since Jio launch. Reliance Jio and Airtel being one of the biggest players in the industry had been fighting it neck to neck.
Reliance Jio has been revising its plans on regular intervals to keep its customers intact with the company and forcing other telecoms to come up with a good offer of leave market share.
In a latest, Jio's major competitor Airtel has come up a new offer for its prepaid users offering 1GB data per day for a period of 84 days at just Rs. 399 (only on 4G handsets with 4G SIMs). This offer has been launched in order to tackle Jio's Rs. 399 plan.
Earlier Airtel had launched Rs 244 plan which offers 1GB 4G data per day for 70 days with free voice call but limited to Airtel network. But this offer is applicable only to those customers who buy new Airtel 4G sims.
The competition in the telecom market has further intensified after Jio announced to launch a low-cost 4G feature phone - Jio Phone. By this, the company is aiming to capture a bigger pie of the 50 crore feature phone users' market in India.
