Mumbai: Virat Kohli's power packed half century helped India put up a massive total against the visitors in the second semi final of the T20 World Cup at Wankhede stadium here on Thursday.
Puti in to bat, India got off to a good start as they scored 55 runs in the first six overs of powerplay. Rohit Sharma (43 off 31 balls) and Ajinkya Rahane (40 off 35) gave a quick start to India before Samuel Badree got rid off Rohit in the eighth over of their innings. India lost the first wicket for 62 runs. This was followed by a good 68-run partnership between Rahane and Kohli.
However, the Kohli (89 off 47 deliveries) kept the momentum going for India and exhibitted a stunning batting display in the death overs as India scored 192 runs for the loss of two wickets in 20 overs.
