Kolkata: West Bengal politics is set to witness a massive shake up of earth shattering proportions. Mukul Roy, who had almost decimated the Trinamool Congress (TMC) after joining the BJP, is et to return.
Earlier, it was formally announced by the Trinamool Congress (TMC) that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will hold a press conference in the evening.
At present, the meeting between Mamata Banerjee and Mukul Roy is going on in the closed room at the Trinamool Bhavan. After the defeat in the assembly elections in West Bengal, the BJP may get another major setback.
In West Bengal, BJP's big leader and party's national vice president Mukul Roy can return to the TMC today. It is being said that he may return to the Trinamool Congress (TMC) today along with his son Shubhranshu.
In this meeting, the nephew of Mamata Banerjee, MP and recently appointed National General Secretary of the party, Abhishek Banerjee is also present. Although officially, neither Trinamool Congress (TMC) nor Mukul Roy has clarified anything about this.
Mukul Roy was once considered the right hand man of Mamata Banerjee, but due to differences, he left the party in 2017 and joined the BJP.
Since the results of the recently concluded West Bengal assembly elections, Mukul Roy has been constantly keeping his distance with the BJP. He did not even attend the party meeting recently. In such a situation, there was constant speculation about his return to the TMC.
