Indonesia's fellowship with natural calamities

Indonesia: With no significant damage or loss of life, the Indonesian island of Lombok was smitten  by an earthquake of magnitude 6.2  on Thursday, as recorded by the United States Geological survey. The earthquake did not just struck Lombok but also alarmed the vacationing tourists in Bali by coming at it from south of Lombok at a speed of 234km and reaching depths of 29km.

Stuopo Pirwo Nugroho , a spokesman of Indonesia’s Disaster Management Agency namely BNBP was quoted saying,” The quake was strong with tremors lasting for three to four seconds, but luckily it did not trigger a tsunami alert”.
