Inside pictures of Dia Mirza's eco-friendly house

New Delhi, Dec 9: Dia Mirza was born on 9 December 1981 and has carved a big niche in the Bollywood industry. Dia has been in modeling, acting, worked as a producer and a beauty queen who won Miss Asia Pacific 2000 title. Mirza has worked in many Bollywood films and is popular in media for her social work. The gorgeous actress made her acting debut with Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein in the year 2001. And, later on featured in several commercially successful films including Dus (2005), Lage Raho Munnabhai (2006), Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. (2007), Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007), Krazzy 4 (2008) and Sanju (2018). 

Dia co-owns a production house, Born Free Entertainment, with her husband Sahil Sangha. Their first film, Love Breakups Zindagi, was released on 7 October 2011.

Dia was born in Hyderabad. Her father, Frank Handrich, was a German graphic and industrial fair designer, architect, artist and interior designer based in Munich. Her mother, Deepa, is a Bengali Indian who is an interior designer, landscaper and currently does social work as a volunteer to help alcoholics and drug addicts. When Diya was four-and-a-half years old, her parents got divorced. 

Afterward, her mother married Ahmed Mirza, a Dakhini Muslim man from Hyderabad, and Diya (then only a toddler) was given the last name of her step-father, although she and her mother remained practicing Hindus. Diya's step-father died in 2003.

Diya Mirza was in news recently when film Sanju was released. The actress did not work in any film for a very long time and when Sanju released, she again grabbed the spotlight. The actress tied the knot in the year 2014 on October 18 to her long time beau Sahil Singha. Diya and Sahil have been in the film industry for a very long time. 

Diya and Sahil met for the first time in the year 2009. It is when Sahil went to Diya's house to show her a script of a movie. After this short meeting cupid struck, and Diya and Sahil started meeting frequently. 

After dating for a long time, they both decided to settle down and got married in the year 2014. In her wedding, Diya preferred to wear designer Ritu Kumar's lehenga. And, Sahil opted for designer Raghvendra Rathore's cream coloured sherwani. 

How Sahil confessed his love for Dia? 

It is when Diya and Sahil went to attend an award function in New York. During this meeting, they both visited the famous Brooklyn Bridge located in Manhattan. The bridge is highly visited by couples who come here to see the famous sunset. During this meeting Sahil went down on his knees, confessed his love for Diya and proposed to her. Diya accepted the proposal. 

Sahil also brought a ring along with him and gifted it to the love of his life. The scene was witnessed by many onlookers and tourists and everyone clapped for them and cheered for them. 

Their wedding took place with full fanfare and the celebration lasted for four days.
