The photo sharing app, Instagram has rolled out a new update on its iOS and Android platforms. The Facebook-owned app has extended its 15 seconds video limit to 60 seconds.
According to the official Instagram blog, the time users spent watching videos increased by more than 40% in the last six months. This update could absolutely pull the Instagram users away from the video confines of YouTube.
“We want to bring you fun, flexible and creative ways to create and watch video on Instagram,” said company on their official blog. “As part of our continued commitment, you’ll soon have the flexibility to tell your story in upto 60 seconds of video,” it shared on its blog.
The app notes that this is just one of many changes the users will be seeing this year. Recently, the company announced it would be changing its feed order.
"Multi-clip video is available this week as part of Instagram for iOS version 7.19 in Apple's App Store," the company revealed.
