Bengaluru, May 16: Congress-JDS CM candidate for Karnataka, HD Kumaraswamy, has alleged that the Karnataka Governor is encouraging horse trading by giving 15 days to Yeddyurappa for proving majority. JDS leader said that the invitation to Yeddyurappa was “murder of democracy” by the Governor.
“By giving 15 days time (to prove majority) Governor is encouraging horse-trading by BJP leaders, this is unconstitutional. We will discuss the future plan,” said Kumarasway.
Earlier, Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala nvited BJP legislative party leader B.S. Yeddyurappa to form the new government and to take oath as Chief Minister on Thursday, a party spokesman said.
"We received a communique from the Raj Bhavan, inviting Yeddyurappa to form the government and take oath at 9.30 a.m.," BJP state unit spokesman Vamanacharya told IANS here.
Only Yeddyurappa will take oath at a simple ceremony in the 'Glass House' on the lawns of the Raj Bhavan in the city centre amid tight security. Yeddyurappa has been given 15 days to prove majority on the floor of the House, reports said.
The Governor has invited party's leaders and newly-elected legislators to the oath-taking ceremony," added Vamanacharya.
