New Delhi: Apple, the California-based tech giant, is all set to release the next generation of the iPhone at its annual event in San Francisco on Wednesday, starting at 10 pm IST.
The Company, which updates its smartphone lineup in early September so it can see out the end of the year on a high, is expected to unveil an upgraded iPhone which would aesthetically be similar to the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.
However, it is speculated that the Apple could make several changes, including a pressure-sensitive home button, better camera, power and battery life.
It is also likely that the tech giant would do away with the 3.55 mm headphone jack; perhaps, replacing it with a pair of Lightning EarPods or wireless "AirPod" headphones, featuring Bluetooth or some other wireless standard.
The 5.5-inch version of the handset would probably come with a dual-lens camera, which will not only increase the picture quality tremendously, but also the second zoomed-in lens will enable the users to focus on important parts of the picture.
It could also come in a new range of colours and a starting size of 32GB. The phone is also reported to be sporting a four LED flashlights and an ambient light sensor.
Apple enthusiasts in India can watch the livestream of the event starting at 10:30 pm.
As for the availability, there is no official confirmation. However, the noted tipster Evan Blass has claimed that iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will go on sale on Friday, September 16, 2016 in the US.
