As reported earlier the prestigious project 'Battle of Saragarhi' was to be co-produced by Salman Khan and Karan Johar jointly. The film will have Akshay Kumar in the main lead. But for some reasons Salman Khan had backed out and the report suggests that Isha Ambani has liked the project and may decide to produce it. The famous Battle of Saragarhi was fought on September 12, 1897, by 21 Sikhs of the 4th Battalion of the Sikh Regiment.
The soldiers gave up their lives defending an army post as they fought against 10,000 Afghans. The battle occurred in the North-West Frontier Province and is now named the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and is part of Pakistan. The 21 Sikh contingent was led by Havildar Ishar Singh and they all fought to death.
