New Delhi: Delhi Police on Wednesday arrested four members of the deadliest terror group Islamic State (ISIS) who were planning a terrorist attack ahead of Republic Day at Delhi-NCR malls and Kumbh in Haridwar.
According to the reports, the list of targets included the Select Citywalk, Saket; DLF Promenade, Vasant Kunj and the Great India Place in Noida.
The arrests confirmed the presence of ISIS in India for the first time.
The three arrested suspects have been identified as Akhlaq,Osama,Mohd Azim and Mohd Mahroz.
Earlier on Tuesday after an anonymous letter purportedly signed by ISIS threatened to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, a nation-wide alert was sounded leading to massive amount of intelligence gathering and security agencies monitoring the situation 24 hours round the clock.
