J-K govt formation: Mehbooba meets Governor, keeps suspense over PDP-BJP alliance

Srinagar: The suspense continues over the PDP-BJP alliance to form J-K government in the state as the regional party chief Mehbooba Mufti, after meeting Governor NN Vohra on Tuesday, set certain conditions for the saffron party including confidence building measures (CBMs) for peace and development of the state. "Centre should take some confidence building measures if government is to be formed with BJP in Jammu and Kashmir, said PDP chief while talking to reporters. Mehbooba further added, "Mufti sahab (Mufti Mohammad Sayeed) had aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the hope that the Centre will bring out the state from the difficult situation it is in." The Governor had invited Mehbooba, as part of effort to end political uncertainty, that has been prevailing in the state for nearly a month since Sayeed, then Chief Minister, passed away on January 7.
