NEW DELHI: Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Jio has taken the Indian telecom to a storm with its budget plans offering huge data compared to other companies. The company not only offers huge data at low costs but also provides good data speed compared to other companies.
The company keeps on updating its plans and offers for its customers and now the company is preparing to launch 5G telecom services. If reports to believe Reliance Jio will launch it within six months of spectrum allocation, which means these services will be launched by the middle of 2020.
The 5G services will support download speeds upto 50 to 60 times faster than 4G and if everything goes right we can get it by end of 2019.
"Jio has 5G-ready LTE network and the new technology-based services will be launched within five-six months once spectrum is allocated,” a company official, told media.
The official further added that the company is aggressively deploying optic fibre which forms the backbone of a 5G network.
The biggest challenge would be the readiness of the ecosystem, the availability of 5G devices, official said to the media.
According to the industry experts, unlike previous upgrades of technologies, 5G would take lesser time to reach market, especially for Reliance Jio which already has an all IP-based network.
