New Delhi, Feb 24: India's second largest telecom provider Vodafone is facing stiff competition from Jio. Recently, the telco has announced a new Rs 799 pack that aims to take on Jio's Rs 799 plan. Jio has been offering 5GB data per day and 140GB data in total for 28 days.
While Vodafone will offer 4.5GB data per day for a validity of 28 days. It is only a 0.5GB less than Jio. Vodafone in offers 126GB data in total for 28 days which is not bad. Users will also get additional benefits like unlimited local/STD and roaming calls and 100SMS free per day.
There is one more plan from Vodafone. The company offers 3.5GB data per day at Rs 549. The other benefits include unlimited local, STD and roaming voice calls. There's also 100 free SMS per day. User gets 98GB data in total.
Jio at Rs 509 offers 4GB data per day along with unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day and complimentary subscription to Jio apps. User gets 112GB data in total.
Recently, Vodafone also revamped its Rs 158 plan to offer unlimited voice calls and 1GB 3G/4G data for 28 days. There is a limit of 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week on calls. The plan competes directly with Jio's Rs 149 and Airtel's Rs 149 plan. Airtel offers offers 1GB 3G/ 4G data per day, unlimited voice calls, and 100 SMSes per day for 28 days only whereas Jio offers unlimited voice calls, 1.5GB data per day and 100 SMS per day also for a validity of 28 days.
Vodafone has also rolled out a Rs 151 Superplan for prepaid users . The Rs 151 recharge offers unlimited voice calls along with 1GB 4G/ 3G data for 28 days. The plan is valid for 28 days. Both the plans - Rs 158 and Rs 151 are currently available only in Kerala circle.
