Kerala polls: Shiv Sena slams BJP, announces 24 candidates

Kochi: With the state gearing up for upcoming assembly polls, Shiv Sena, not a part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Kerala, announced its candidates for 24 constituencies on Sunday.

Calling the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders "political opportunists", Shiv Sena said the saffron party has no right to constitute NDA in Kerala.

Sena's state unit informed that the party would contest 45 constituencies in the 140-seat assembly elections.

It informed the first list of 24 candidates has been approved by Sena supremo Uddhav Thackeray.
